HAEUNDAE SAND FESTIVAL
This festival takes place at Busan's beautiful Haeundae Beach, where everyone wishes to go for their summer holidays. The festival's program is full of events inspired by the beach's beautiful white sand. Other events include a beach volleyball competition, an exhibition of different types of sand from around the world, and a marathon race.
HISTORIC PARK OF GEOJE POW CAMP
This camp is located on Geoje Island ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geojedo) in South Gyeongsang Province was founded in early 1951 by U.N. troops, and held around 170,000 prisoners in 28 facilities until an armistice was concluded in 1953. The camp was designated as Cultural Asset No.99 of South Gyeongsang Province in December 1983, with only some remnants of the facility still existing. Today a small section of the former Goeje Island POW camp has been reconstructed into a museum to remember this little known chapter of the Korean War. http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=264498
