ORYUK ISLETS - Haeundae Busan

The islets is the gateway of Busan, through which all ships sail to enter Busan Harbor. Oryuk Islets consists of Pangpae Islets, Suri Islets, SongotIslets, Kull Islets, and Patt Islets. The islets name is commonly thought to derive from the natural tides that change the appearance of the islets. At low tide there are 6 islets, and at high tide there are 5 islets.

However, according to old documents, a different explanation exists; 'It is named Oryuk Islets because when see islets on the east side there are 6 islets, and on the west side there are 5 islets'. It means that the islets look different not because of the natural tides but because of the direction they are viewed from.
